The Lee Shore Company, Ltd. is proud to announce that it is representing BROKEN DOLL a novel by author Crissa Constantine.
Lisa was a disastrous failure as a new teacher in an all-black school in a town in northern Louisiana. Sunny, a gorgeous and charismatic colleague, befriended her and gave her the confidence to assert herself and succeed. Lisa was enchanted by Sunny but was also alarmed by her self-destructive behavior. Sunny had an insatiable appetite for romantic passion and intrigue. She seemed to thrive on danger. Sunny rose very high in society by marrying rich and powerful men, but like the classic tragic heroine, had a character flaw that threatened to destroy her charmed life.
Crissa Constantine grew up in Vancouver, BC and earned degrees in English and Music from the University of British Columbia. She received her MA in music from Case Western Reserve University and her M.Ed. from Louisiana State University. Crissa taught all subjects in elementary schools in Louisiana and California and subsequently, taught music in a college in Vancouver. She has released two CDs of original piano music, which have been featured on radio and television. Her first book, BANISHED FROM THE HOMELAND (published by SterlingHouse Publisher, Inc. in Pittsburgh, PA), is a fictionalized biography of Crissa’s mother, who fled from Stalin’s holocaust in Estonia. The book received critical praise internationally and was accepted as a valuable testament to the supreme courage of the Estonian people.
